lies just north of Nelspruit nor far from the border
with Kruger National Park. It is not a large town but there are
some stunning establishments in the fertile surrounding area of
scenic beauty. White River is well placed for visiting the rest
of the Panorama Route or Kruger National Park.
The climate is said to be
one of the best in South Africa, lovely and hot in summer when rainfall
is at its highest, and cool nights during the winter. The farms
in White River tend to be relatively small but the agriculture is
intensive with tropical and citrus fruits in abundance, and vegetables
and cut flowers.

is the educational, industrial and commercial centre of Mpumalanga
Province of South Africa. Mixed farming (maize, cattle, potatoes,
beans, wool, pigs, sunflower seeds, lucerne and sorghum) and anthracite,
coal and torbanite mining take place here. Ermelo is the crossroads
of three national highways, N2, N11 and the N17.
Ruins of a settlement dating 1400 are found in the area while
Ermelo itself was founded by Dutch Reformed Church Reverend Frans
Cachet who was converted to Christianity in the town of Ermelo
in the Netherlands. The town was reduced to a single standing
home by the British during the Second Boer War.

The town was founded in 1849 and
named after Governer .
An important crossroad in the land trade routes, it is still rich

At the junction of three
provinces, this 'natural' destination and departure point for
travellers is now the largest town in northern KwaZulu- Natal.
Not only is
named after the mother of all Newcastles northern England's Newcastle-upon-Tyne
but it also has links with 27 sister Newcastles worldwide. Chelmsford
Nature Reserve outside town is renowned for carp and bass fishing.
A 1000 ha game park, with rhino, wildebeest, zebra, blesbok and
